The Society currently has the following vacancies:

HEAD OF ARCHIVE AND LIBRARY SERVICES

The Society is currently looking for a dynamic individual to head its Archive and Library Services.  They will be able to lead on the high quality data digitisation programme for online access. Not forgetting in house services; the successful applicant will be expected to deliver a first class service to our Members and visitors.  Supervising staff and a team of volunteers the successful candidate will be equipped with a suitable qualification in Archives or Libraries or an equivalent.  They will have the ability to lead, delegate and be hands-on when required. This role will include some Saturday working.

VOLUNTEER MANAGER

The Society of Genealogists has a broad spectrum of services including archive, library, education and publications. This enables us in turn to offer a broad range of volunteering opportunities.  We are now looking to build on this aspect by employing a Volunteer Manager to make this process more appealing to individuals. We will be looking to structure programmes and improve communications with our volunteers. The successful applicant will preferably have a qualification or experience in managing/procurement and implementation of volunteers.  This role will include some Saturday working.

LIBRARY SUPPORT WORKER

The library support worker will be assisting the society in the delivery of its services.  A strong emphasis will be on training and nurturing volunteers in the different disciplines across the Archive and Library services.  Preferably with a qualification or equivalent in Archives or libraries the candidate will be experienced in working in this environment with volunteers.  A knowledge of genealogy or family history would be an advantage.  This role will include some Saturday working.
