In this half-day course Susan Moore introduces us to the excitement of chancery records, using cases of local interest.
Strictly speaking, Chancery proceedings include only those of the Court of Chancery. In reality, outside the academic world, it is loosely used to include the other principal courts of equity. Chancery records can provide an insight into the life and times of a family or a place. They can include details of several generations, often with dates, all in one document.
