Did you know that sketching a chart or a tree, by hand, can help you to understand more about the timeline of events in your family history and the relationships between members of your family?

In this half-day workshop, David Cufley shows you how to use charts and diagrams to think through your family history. He shows how to draw a Family Group Sheet chart, including the symbols and abbreviations used. Gaps on your drawing or re-occurring data may show you trends and suggest future research.

David also looks at other types of charts including:

- Drop charts;

- Total descent charts;

- Birth briefs

- Time lines;

- Mind maps.

Please bring some details of your family history, some paper, a pencil and an eraser.
