In this talk Tudor Allen describes the history and development of Swiss Cottage.

Tudor describes the area 200 years ago, when it was all fields with the River Tyburn running through it. He shows how its development began with the construction of the Finchley Road in the late 1820s, and how many notable buildings and institutions have enriched life there – from the Swiss Cottage tavern to Cosmo’s Restaurant.

Come along and find out a little about some of Swiss Cottage’s famous ex-residents, including Sigmund Freud, T S Eliot and Lillie Langtry.
