One of the most difficult times in the 20th century to find ancestors is during the WW2 years: 1939 to 1945. It’s only 81 years ago, but it can be very challenging.
Most men were in the armed forces and nowhere near the towns and villages that they grew up in. Many women were working in essential industries or as land girls – apart from parents and husbands in a variety of places around the UK. Children were moved out of cities into rural areas.
In this one-hour talk, Robert Parker covers:
- The sources available for tracking your ancestors at this crucially important time of their lives;
- How to access the records.
