Join us for a full day of talks and workshops covering how to learn more about your ancestors that lived and worked in East London. Find out about places in London that hold historical and family records that could help you create a better picture of your ancestors’ lives.

During the day, we cover the following topics:

Session 1: Family and Local History Sources in the Tower Hamlets Local History Archive, with Malcolm Barr-Hamilton

Session 2: Bishopsgate Institute and its Collections for the Family Historian, with Stefan Dickers

Session 3: A History of Photography in London’s East End, with Stefan Dickers

Session 4: East London Family History Sources in the Society of Genealogists Library, Else Churchill

To finish the day, there will be a Question and Answer Session.

There are no special entry requirements for this talk and you do not need to be a Member of the Society of Genealogists to attend. Expect a friendly atmosphere, expert speakers and lots of detail. Tea and coffee are provided during a breaks in the morning and afternoon. There is, of course, a lunch break and there are many restaurants and coffee bars in the area.
