Derek Morris, local historian and author of several books published about East London, leads this walk.
Our route follows the Thames, looking at 18th and 20th century features with links to the USA (President Jefferson), the old rope works and the canal system. We visit the prominent 18th century church, St Ann's Limehouse. We finish close to West Ferry DLR and the famous 17th century riverside tavern, The Grapes, with links to Charles Dickens and earlier. A reasonable lunch is available here, although it’s not part of the walk.
