What other area can bring together Oscar Wilde and Winnie the Pooh?
This walk begins on the borderland between what Dickens called ‘the aristocratic pavements of Belgrave Square and the barbarism of Chelsea’. It heads west towards the Royal Hospital, Chelsea’s bohemian heartland, and the old village whose notable residents ranged from Thomas More to Thomas Carlyle. It ends on the King’s Road at Chelsea Town Hall.
The walk is planned to take between 1.5 to 2 hours.
Plus, if you are booking this early, don’t miss Pete’s talk on Chelsea at the SoG on 12 June.
Meeting point: Booking hall of Sloane Square Underground Station SW1W 8BB
