During Victoria's reign from 1837-1901, there were huge changes within the town, especially after the arrival of the railway.

This walk, looks at how the exciting developments of the time, affected the people; the buildings and the running of the town itself.

This will be a leisurely walk, visiting the Castle grounds, where you will see the Pleasure Gardens designed by the Borough Surveyor and Architect of the time, Henry Peak. The home of Lewis Carroll; Holy Trinity Church, scene of the Guy Riots and the main streets of the town centre, to view the important Victorian buildings, which still remain.
