Records of employment can vary from the few to the many. In most cases, it depends on the occupation.

In this one-hour talk Alec Tritton looks at some of the occupations that employed the working man and the aspiring middle classes in the 19th century. This includes the Post Office, the Railways, the Police, and coal mining. He also discusses the record sources that are available.

There will be a question and answer session after the talk.
