This is the first of three popular, practical creative writing workshops that enable you to bring the story of your ancestors to life. The workshops guide you through the different phases of writing and editing. You have the opportunity to actively engage in writing and producing your family history.

At the end of the three workshops you will be working towards having a body of work ready for publication or display.

Workshop 1 aims to help you as you begin to write your family history. Gill covers:

- How to choose a writing style and format;

- What to include;

- How to consider adding social, geographical and local history context;

- How to expand your family history biography.

Gill also offers an analysis of your work and a review of your progress. Please bring a small family history related object with you to this first workshop.

Due to the intensive nature of this workshop, spaces are limited.

A full-day workshop with Gill Blanchard.
