25/11/2017 10:30 - 17:00
The second of three practical creative writing workshops which enable people to bring the story of their ancestors to life. These workshops guide participants through different phases of writing and editing. The students will engage in writing and producing their family history. At the end of workshops the students will be working towards having a body of work ready for publication/display. In the second part of this course, we will look at developing your writing further, including specific work on using secondary materials that relate to an area; people; trades, historical period or experiences of your ancestors (e.g. biographies, autobiographies, memoirs and oral histories), building background material and dealing with family stories, missing pieces and anomalies. Please note course part 2 cannot be taken without first taking part 1 (4 November).
