Last year saw the Society of Genealogists celebrate its Centenary year. This is quite an achievement but one which was only possible because of its members, past and present.
The Society has seen many changes in the last 100 years, most notably the need and demand for digital resources. In order for the Society to flourish in the coming years it needs to invest in crucial updates and improvements. Digitisation of its records and documents is just one of many projects that we would like to kick-start. By improving the accessibility of the Society’s unique resources, we hope to encourage usage from current members as well as attract much needed future members.
The Society is a registered charity but is not government funded which means it is reliant on membership fees, donations, legacies and grants.
