Have you got a question about your family history research? Need some fresh ideas or places to look? The Society of Genealogists is just at the end of the phone. The Society provides a specialist family history telephone advice service - see below for opening hours.

Saturday: 11am-1pm and 2pm-4pm
Thursday: 6pm-7.45pm.
Free Access to On-line Family History Records
The open access area, adjacent to the Society's Bookshop, has been equipped with a suite of computers which give free access to the main family history websites:

- originsnetwork.com
- TNA Documents on-line
The open access sessions give people the opportunity to try out the websites for free. We will attempt to have volunteers on hand to help but this cannot be guaranteed therefore this area is self-service. If you require advice we do recommend you book one of our advice sessions - details below or use the Phone-in Advice line
Please note that entrance to the free Open Access Area does not include entrance to the main family history library and normal charges to use these facilities will apply if you wish to proceed beyond the open access area.

Library Tours and Family History Advice Sessions
The Society runs free morning tours of the library at 11:15 and one-to-one advice half hour advice sessions with experts at the Society’s library on alternate Saturdays from 2pm.
Telephone the library direct on 020 7702 5485 to book a library tour and/or an advice session or on the following Saturdays:
