Elephant and Castle - a one-hour Lecture on 4 June

Local Historian, Stephen Humphrey will discuss the general history of this well-known junction in South London, with special reference to its heyday between about 1840 to 1940. Also covered is the Elephant and Castle Public House, many further pubs, churches and chapels, almshouses, music halls and theatres, restaurants, local institutions and events, and famous local characters.
