Family History for Beginners - Half-day Courses on 29 April and 13 May

The first of our courses for beginners will be held on Saturday, 29 April (2-5pm): Family History for Beginners: Finding Births, Marriages and Deaths & the Census          

Starting out on family history research?  Then this course is for you. You will learn about fundamental first steps and essential building blocks of genealogy; how and why to trace certificates of birth, marriage and death (civil registration) and how to find your ancestors in census records.  

Our second course will be held Saturday, 13 May (2-5pm): Family History for Beginners: Parish Registers   

In Part 2 of this course (can be taken independently from part 1) you will learn how to search for records of marriage, baptism and burial in parish registers.  The tutor will introduce both online and offline sources and methods.
