Maps for Family Historians - A One-hour Lecture on 13 March

Maps can add so much to your understanding of your family history. Maps can show where your ancestors lived and worked; help you to plot migration patterns; show surname distributions; reveal changes to street names; help you to locate sources for research; and guide you as you plan research trips.

In this one-hour talk, Charlie Mead introduces a wide range of maps including: county maps, town plans, estate maps, enclosure maps, tithe maps, transport maps, parish maps, social maps, and military maps.

A one-hour lecture  on Wednesday, 13 March (2pm), cost £8.00/£6.40 SoG members. Places should be pre-booked, through our website or by telephone: 020 7553 3290 (Tue-Thu & Sat). Do you have a question? email the events department.
