Saturday, 15 June 11:00-13:00 - Walk: Historic Regents Park: Royalty & Roses
Take a stroll around this royal park and discover the stories behind its Regency terraces, London Zoo, the Open Air Theatre and, of course, the rose gardens. This former hunting ground was developed in 1811 to house the Prince Regent's summer villa, and we will take in some of those grand villas designed by John Nash as we hear tales of architecture, famous residents both human and animal, the first mosque in London and the home of the US Ambassador.
Meet point: Regent’s Park Underground Station.
This walk takes place Saturday, 15 June (11:00-13:00), with guide Julie Chandler. Cost £10.00/£8.00 SoG members. Places MUST be pre-booked, through our website or by telephone: 020 7553 3290 (Tue-Thu). Do you have a question? email the events department.
