SoG Refurbishments Continue

Work and refurbishment is ongoing in preparation for the recently reported forthcoming developments at the SoG - the arrival of 60,000 FamilySearch miicrofilms and hosting the Library of the Jewish Genealoical Society of Great Britain.

Most of the major work took place while we were at the WDYTYA?Live show at the NEC in Birmingham and over the Easter break but there is still a bit more to do. So if you're coming into the Society in the next few weeks please be prepared for the smell of paint and a little upheaval.

Essentially we have divided the old bookshop and reception area to create a new office. We are moving and refurbishing the locker space and preparing the new storage areas for the films on the ground floor. In addition we've given the public areas in the ground floor a fresh lick of paint and will be replacing and brightening up the carpets etc.

We don't expect the work to interrupt the work of the library or events at the Society.

We  do hope you will like the end result and thank you for being patient while work is in progress.
