The Society’s visit to the Lancashire Archives take place on 2 April 2020

Do you have Lancashire ancestors? Here is your chance to spend a day at the Lancashire Archives in Preston.

Enjoy a talk looking at the history and work of the Lancashire Archives and introducing you to the many and wonderful collections. Then join a tour showing you the public search room and giving you a chance to look behind the scenes inside one of the strong rooms.

Our tour guide shows some of the archive treasures, including an illuminated Book of Hours from the mid 1400s. Then after learning your way around, you are then free to undertake your own personal research in the archive.
