Group Visits

The Society is always pleased to welcome groups to its London premises. Groups of up to fifteen people are given a free tour of the Library lasting about 90 minutes, whilst groups of 16 or more are given a free talk about the library in the lecture room.

Tours can be given on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays or Saturdays, but bookings must be made in advance. They start at around 11.15am and finish about 12.45pm

Members of the Society who would rather show their own groups around themselves are very welcome to do so, providing the group is no larger than about fifteen people.

Visitors may wish to use the library after the tour. Any formal group of six or more people is offered a discount of 20% off the normal day search fees (which are currently £5 for 2 hours or £10 for 4 hours). These rates are offered on the basis of the organiser providing a list of the non-members attending and paying the fee as a single payment in advance. Any member of the group who is already a member of the Society of Genealogists or who joins on the day of the visit will, of course, not have to pay.

To arrange a visit contact either Else Churchill or Tim Lawrence.
