Vicar-General Marriage Licence Index Published indexes |
|
The series of indexes is now complete. This page tells you what is available and how to purchase. |
The Vicar-General Marriage Licence Index has been progressively published in parts as work on suitable periods (generally of 25 years) has been finished. The complete series from 1694 to 1850 is now available. A limited number of indexes have been printed in comb bound book form and these are most suitable for use by libraries or professional genealogists. Copies are also available as sets of microfiche and these are probably most suitable for Family History Societies, professional genealogists or keen amateurs. Both can be purchased in person at the Society or, more usefully for readers of this web page, by secure server over the internet using a credit card. Full details (eg pages, format, cost) are given in the SoG's publications orderline catalogue (see links below) which you are welcome to browse.

Obviously I hope that you will consider supporting all of the effort that has gone into the creation of this index by purchasing one or more of the index parts or alternatively ersuading your local Family History Society or genealogical library to add to their collection. None of the volunteers who have worked hard on this project will gain financially but knowing that the index is being purchased and used is a most gratifying reward.
