Old handwriting is often ambiguous. The volunteers and checkers who prepared the Vicar-General Marriage Licence Index have transcribed to the best of their ability but it is to be expected that some errors will be made. The aim of this page is to be a forum for recording possible corrections to the index. I stress "possible" because the very nature of ambiguous or unclear writing means that the correct version is a matter of judgement. However when users report discrepancies to me I will record them here as a guide to future users.
