The Vicar-General of the Archbishop of Canterbury could issue licences to marry in any church in the Province of Canterbury the extent of which is shown in the map below. However that is not, necessarily, a guide as to where the parties to the marriage came from. For example a Scottish or French groom living in London and marrying an English girl there could apply for and be given a licence.
