Did your ancestors perhaps visit any of your favorite seaside towns? Do you have a postcard collection? Do you like to dabble with local history while on a mini-break?
We’d love to hear your thoughts. Reply to our Facebook Post or tag us in a tweet with your comments!

ScotlandsPeople has added nearly 4,000 new volumes of Church of Scotland records, totalling around 290,000 digital images, to the previous uploads from 2021. This new release includes over 3,000 kirk session records, as well as presbyteries, synods, and General Assembly records, covering almost 350 years of history from the 1560s to 1900. Available records include minute books, accounts, communion rolls, poor relief, and education records, now searchable online for free, though saving images costs two credits per image. While these church court records are not indexed by name, users can browse using reference numbers, kirk session names, or place names, and perform keyword searches. These records offer valuable insights into the lives of ordinary Scots, documenting local events and parishioners' behaviours, and can aid in researching church, family, local, or social history.
